Ryan tyne gets beefed up

Paul Ryan from Ryan NT (formerly RFM NT) at Horsham in Victoria has added to his range of planting and tillage equipment with a beefed up Ryan Tyne.
The new tyne, with a break out force of 272kg, offers some flexibility as it can be quickly changed from a shank to a double disc assembly on a seeding bar.
Ryan said the latest version of the tyne is the result of his ongoing research and his family's extensive experience which started with a single disc developed by his father, Austin Ryan OAM.
Ryan has also developed a retrofittable double disc system that allows the farmer to plant in dry conditions without the ground clodding.
“And with the unique front boot system, this allows the farmer to plant in unchoice conditions without blocking,” Ryan said.
Ryan NT (formerly RFM NT) has continued product development with the Ryan Coil Wheel system by adding to the original Press Harrow gang model. The Ryan Coil Wheel system can be fitted as individual rear and tyne-mounted models.
“The self-cleaning and non-caking benefits from the Coil Wheel have proven to be an advantage, from red clay soils in the south to the black soils of the northern Australian cropping regions,” Ryan said.
Another product from Ryan NT (formerly RFM NT) is the result of refining the Coil Wheel system into a patented Gauge and Closing Wheel for single and double-disc planters.
“We are continually seeking ways to improve our product range and current tillage equipment. And we encourage farmers to run a row or two of their existing seeding bars with one of our units to see what the difference may be.”
The Gauge Wheel will fit Serafin, John Deere, Kinze, Great Plains, Norseman, Excel and Boss bars and features an open design.
The wheel has an outside diameter of 400mm and has three coils of 14mm diameter spring wire.
The Closing Wheel is a spoked design with two coils, an outside diameter of 300mm and 12mm diameter spring wire.
Ryan also recently issued a plea to existing and potential customers, following what he described as “misleading information released to our customers regarding our branding and patents.”
“All purchases of Ryan Farming Machinery Pty Ltd (Ryan NT) products are to be supplied via myself or any of our authorised vendors,” he said.
